How these parts work
Clamp chains draw both edges of the film through the forming, sealing and cutting stations in a precise indexing motion, while the blades separate the packs with a clean cut. The chain is a critical wear part: it is replaced before it exceeds about 3% elongation, and parallel chains must be exactly length-matched — otherwise the film skews and packs come out defective.
